Colac Otway Birds

In 2019, good friend and fellow bird enthusiast Ian Davies and I created a local bird field guide.

Dedicated to the birds of the Colac Otway Shire.

We were thrilled with the reception at our launch on 31/6/2019. Friends, family, locals and visitors alike were there in support of the new book. It was a great night at COPACC with M.C. Brian Crook and guest speaker Andy Meddick MP. To be honest, I’m just glad to be a part of something like this for this region.

We had a lot of fun putting this together. We already had tons of pics in each of our computer galleries to choose from. With only one quality pic needed for each species, it wasn’t a huge task. We did, however, need better pics of a few species, which proved somewhat difficult, but we got there in the end. We had to retire our search for perfection and go with a good choice of the high-quality photos we had. Colac Otway Birds was the result, and we are both extremely happy we were able to make it a reality.
